Shanti Bhavan Hospital, Bihar, India
Shanti Bhavan Hospital is the vision of our dear Brother N J Varughese. A few years ago he saw 5000 people die in his ministry area of Bihar, northeast India of malaria and cholorea. His mobile medical clinic and team could not do much to help alleviate such an epidemic and his heart was broken for these families. God subsequently showed him the hospital he was to build for these poor tribal and village people.
AS you can see from these photos the hospital is coming up now. The surrounding villagers are happy to have some construction work as they were jobless before this project was started. A large 75 bed clinic is the first phase and will be followed by a 100 bed hospital behind the clinic on the 8 acre plot.
Pray for this project. Funding is still needed for medical equipment, supplies, and furnishing etc. Terry has served on the board of All India Mission and is a ministry partner with NJ since 1968. Terry helped NJ get his ministry in the USA started. He married NJ and Ellen in 1984. He has taught and encouraged the workers in Bihar many times over the years.
